A few weeks ago, I was with a client who has a ranch-style house. Her roof size is right around 2,500 sq. ft. When we got done going through the process, she had basically designed the exact same roof as her neighbor’s.
She asked me how the cost could be more, when her neighbor’s house was twice the size of hers. I quickly pulled up Google Earth, which showed the top of both houses, side by side. You could see that although her neighbor’s two-story home looked bigger, the roof sizes were actually identical.

This same client wondered why her
