2010 Portland to Coast Relay

This past weekend, Roof Life of Oregon sponsored, and had two employees (Peter & Maggie Morin), participate in this year’s Portland to Coast Race. Portland to Coast is the largest walk relay in the world. The course takes participants from downtown Portland, through several rural communities, ending on the beach in Seaside, Oregon. Each team is comprised of twelve participants, six per van, and each walk two legs of approximately five miles. The vans take turns, passing off to the next van once all six participants have walked a leg, in perfect relay style to collectively complete the 127 mile course.

Team #2209 Cheeper by the Dozen participants included Maggie, Laurie, Kellie, Vanessa, Peter, Shirlene, Mari, Andrea, Nikki, Keeley, Talia, and Rebecca.

Cheeper by the Donzen started their first leg in Portland at 3:15 am on Friday anchored by none other than Maggie Morin. Despite a couple of glitches or rookie’s mistakes the team completed the race in Seaside approximately 3 hours ahead of their projected time at 12pm on Saturday.

Treating Status Updates

At Roof Life of Oregon, we’re always looking for innovative ways to better serve our clients. One of the biggest complaints we receive is clients not knowing if we are treating in their area or not. Our Roof Maintenance Production Manager, Mark Landes, routinely calls our clients the night before to notify them of our plans to service their home. However, many of our clients are not home, don’t receive the phone call, or are potentially out of town.

To help notify our clients of our treatment routes we will be providing updates via our Facebook and Twitter accounts:

If you would like to know what areas and types of roofing we are treating, please follow us on Twitter or ‘like’ us on Facebook. If you have any other ideas on how we can better serve our clients please feel free to post a comment below.

2010 West Linn High School Girls Softball Team

The 2010 spring season proved to be a successful season for the West Linn HS girls softball team that ended with a birth in the OSAA 6A State Championship playoffs. Unfortunately, the Lions fell to the Saxons of South Salem in the first round of the playoffs 7-3. The Lions finished the season with an 11-7 league record good enough for 4th with an overall record of 13-11.

As proud supporters of the West Linn HS softball team we’d like to congratulate the players and coaches on a great 2010 season.
